Things to Do for St. Patrick’s Day in Portland

Follow the rainbow if you want or follow our advice and check out these things to do in Portland the weekend of St. Patrick’s Day.  While we can’t promise you a pot of gold, we can promise a multiple days of great fun!

 

·         Go green and check out the free Shamrock Fitness Fair Friday March 14th and Saturday March 15thwhere you can learn about fitness products and participate in holiday-themed games and contests.

·         Support runners in the Shamrock Run who are raising funds for the Doernbecher Children’s Hospital Foundation by cheering on the 35,000 of them who will participate in the 5K, 8K, and 15K on Sunday March 16th.

·         Enjoy a pint and do a jig to live music at Kells Annual St. Patrick’s Day Festival Friday March 14th-Monday March 17th.

·         Bring your little leprechauns along for some good old fashioned Irish entertainment at the All-Ireland Cultural Society 73rd St. Patrick’s Day family festival where you can dance, eat, and drink all day long on Monday March 17th.

·         Get lucky and participate in costume contests such as Lamest Lad, Fairest Irish Maiden, and Craziest Leprechaun Bowler put on by the Portland Leprecon Pub Crawl on Monday March 17th.

·         Sham-rock out to live Irish music at McMenamins Monday March 17th and enjoy Irish stout, Irish coffee cocktails, and Irish food.

As the saying goes, “Many an opportunity is lost because a man is out looking for four-leaf clovers,” so this St. Patrick’s Day make your own luck and cause some mischief at the sure to be magical events above!
